I love my clients. I tend to have the coolest clients on the planet. I think I’ve mentioned that before but Haley and Brad are no exception to that rule at ALL. In fact, they are so good in front of the camera that I really hope that wasn’t the last time I get to photograph them. Should we schedule a 1 year anniversary session now… or later? They’re such a cool couple and I had an absolute blast hanging out with them on their wedding day and meeting all of their fun friends and family! I LOVE their wedding photos. Heather and Brent | Married

When I first met Heather, her sister and mom at Panera, I had such a wonderful connection with them all that I knew I really, really want to shoot her wedding! I’m so thankful that she choose me to document her special day!

And what an amazing wedding it was! Although there were record high temperatures, everyone was excited about watching these two join their lives together! It was such beautiful ceremony with lots of little surprises that made it so special and emotional.

On top of that, I knew it was going to be an awesome wedding because I had the fabulous Amber Holritz photograph with me! She did an incredible job as always. I included several of her photos below!

We started the day off at Elea Blake. It’s always fun to go there and see my wonderful friends!

How would I describe Joey and Mary? Infectiously happy.

When you’re around them you can’t help but be happy with them. Smiling faces are so a part of who they are that I knew there wouldn’t be too many serious poses during their photoshoot. Which was fine with me because I had an absolute blast with them! I just couldn’t be more happy for them. These two are best of friends and they showed it.

Lauren and Clay | Engagement

Had a wonderful time hanging out with Lauren and Clay. It seems like I hadn’t seen them in forever. We were really pumped that the weather warmed up over the weekend and I could document the love between these two without freezing our butts off!

The Engels Family – Part 2

For those of you who were touched by our recent blog post about the amazing Engels family, please spend another few moments with us. We have more photos to share, and we hope that you are again blessed, encouraged, and challenged.

Rich put together the unbelievable fusion slideshow below, blending our still shots with some video that we took during our time with the Engels. These photos are from the end of our session, when the family spent time cutting Christi’s hair before the chemotherapy could take it from her. Kenny had his head shaved right along with her, and his love for her could not be more beautiful or inspiring.

The Smith clan builds a snowman!

Well, to be truthful, Heather built it. Alana kept her hands in her pockets and I documented. Alana was so excited to build a snowman that she refused to take a nap but right when it came to build it, her hands got too cold. Oh well. We had a blast anyways!

Sadly, it’s 40 degrees today so the our little snowman had a shorter life than most butterflies. If you went to the Tennessee Aquarium more often, you’d know how long that is.

It snowed a bit last week at our place. According to the news, it was going to be the blizzard of the decade but as always, just a dusting. But as people who don’t get to see much snow we rushed out to photograph! Alana loves the snow and just wants to run around in it. Love, love, love her energy.

So to tell the world how much I love my girls, I wanted to show you some pics of them! I really have the best family in the world! Two of the sweetest girls you’ll ever meet.

They were sporting scarves that are HANDMADE as Christmas gifts by their good friend Kellie Dykast. Check out the quality! Both Heather and Alana love them!

Delicious Gigi’s Cupcakes!

When Gigi’s Cupcakes contacted me to photograph their cupcakes that are aimed toward brides for their upcoming bridal show, I couldn’t pass up an opportunity like that. Gigi’s is trying to target brides as an alternate to having a traditional wedding cake. Cupcakes instead of cake? Aren’t cupcakes for 1 year old b-day parties? Um, have you SEEN these cupcakes? They’re amazing. They are NOT your typical cupcake! Adults travel from all around to get their hands on these cupcakes. They have cupcake flavors for the kids and definitely ones for the adults including tiramisu, carrot cake, apple spice and others.

In fact, it actually makes a lot of sense to have cupcakes instead of cake. You can have a variety if you’d like, and they are essentially pre-cut cake that will make your wedding guests think you’re a genius! If you haven’t seen one of these individual masterpieces, you won’t have to wait long… check out the pics I took for their upcoming bridal show banners…

Leslie + Brian [married]

I was so privileged to photograph our friend Leslies wedding. She has been friends with Heather and I for years now. She actually was the first person Alana went to without fussing when she was an infant, giving us a few minutes to fully enjoy our friends at a dinner gathering. It was awesome! I was thrilled when she contacted me to photograph her wedding!

It was great meeting her man Brian and right away I knew these two were meant to be together. Perfect fit. You might remember their little engagement pictures here.

Their wedding day was kind of chilly and overcast but spirits were high and everyone enjoyed themselves! Here is some of my images documenting their wonderful occasion!

Leslie and Brian | Engaged!

What a FUN couple! I had an absolute blast with them… as you’ll see in the pictures to follow. We’ve known Leslie for a long time and just love her wonderfully warm personality that kids just flock to. She’s one of the first people that our newborn daughter Alana went to and slept on while we were able to eat in peace! Needless to say, Leslie holds a special place in our hearts. That’s why I’m thrilled to photograph her wedding next month to Brian!
