I had the AMAZING opportunity to hang out with the incredible Christen and Danny as they welcomed their families into Knoxville for their wedding. The day before the wedding, they had an intimate gathering of their immediate families for the rehearsal and an evening out and about town.
I absolutely loved hanging with the family. Everyone was so excited and were not afraid to show it! I could tell from the very moments when everyone was greeting each other at the door of the church that I was dealing with a very special family.

We went to this really cool “little” place called the Sun Sphere. It’s one of the most recognizable structures in Knoxville. It was the site where Danny proposed to Christen, so they wanted to take everyone there to see it!
We all then went to Ruth Chris Steakhouse! By this time, I felt so humbled to be with this small group of people. Very quickly I moved from being strangers to being friends with them. They literally invited me to be part of their wonderful family for the evening. The feeling was overwhelming and exciting. It felt like I becoming a part of something extremely special.
The violinist did a wonderful job. She took my request to play the love theme from my favorite movie “Superman”. This evening couldn’t have gotten better.

Toasts and speeches. Nearly everyone around the table gave one. Here is Christen’s beautiful sister Carol Ann telling her sister how much she has meant to her over the years.

At the end of the evening, they played a slideshow including pictures of their childhood. Lots of fun memories to relive!
It was sad to see the evening end but there as definitely a growing excitement for what was going to happen the next day… which is covered in my next post!
