Travis and Brittany’s Prom Pics

Hair:  Rose Riley
Makeup: Jill Clark – jill-clark@utc.edu

It was time for prom and Brittany and Travis wanted to do things a bit differently. Instead of the traditional prom pics in which the girl stands next to the guy with her hand on his chest while smiling at the camera, we decided to go for something a bit more artistic.  And I think we succeeded!

I’ve photographed Brittany before for her senior photos last year and I photographed her with her boyfriend Travis for about 5 minutes in Hawaii but we had never done a full blown session all together before.  I loved it!  These two were up for anything and it really showed in their photos!

Brittany’s mom Leslie had just bought a new house so we decided to do the photoshoot there!  It’s such a cool house I was like a kid in a candy store.  Enough talking… on to the pics!

Love these two! They were so much fun to work with.  And with the hummer limo I saw them go off to the prom with their friends, I’m betting they had an absolute blast!  Thank you for wanting me to do your photos. Hopefully I got something for you that none of your friends have.:)

The Not So Typical Senior Session

Hair: Rose Riley - wrr00@hotmail.com
Makeup: Darin Wright – Elea Blake Cosmetics
Outfit Coordination: Blake Wright

I wrapped up another workshop last weekend with a Senior photoshoot.  Now, I have to be truthful that this was my very first senior session. I felt a little weird conducting a workshop and doing a session I’ve never done before but my client Leslie really wanted to 1) photograph her senior daughter and 2) get me out of my comfort zone.  Well, we definitely did both!  I’m finding out that Leslie doesn’t do anything half hearted. This photosession was no exception.  This was also the first time I’ve had a makeup artist, hair stylist and outfit coordinator follow us around on a photoshoot.  We all felt like rockstars.  And we had an AMAZING time.  Brittany rocked it in front of the camera!

This is so different than most senior sessions I’ve seen, I’m going to dub this session the “anti-senior session”.  Check out a few of my favorites!

We found this phenomenal area to do the photoshoot. I swear I could come to this place about 10 times and not get one shot that was the same.  Love this place!

Brittany’s very cool boyfriend Travis came along to help out.  He was so interested in what was going on and loved helping me out whenever I needed it. Don’t think this shoot would have gone as smoothly without him! Thanks Travis! Got a couple of shots of him while Brittany was getting in a different outfit…

Did I mention that Brittany rocked it? Her outfits were insanely cool.  Big thanks to Blake Wright for helping coordinate.

Here’s the scene every few minutes. The girls were completely on their game the entire time. It was fun watching them rush in, do their thing and rush back out.  It was great having those extra set of eyes spotting things that I didn’t see.  Should hire them for all of my shoots.

Rose (the hair stylist) did an incredible job with Brittany’s hair.  Love what she did for this series of shots!

Wonder when Brittany is going to start her professional modeling career? I heard it pays well.

Wow… what an amazing time I had! It was a like a dream shoot.  Almost too much fun.

Thank you to Leslie for creating this awesome experience, Brittany for doing such a rockin’ job in front of the camera (you’re a natural), Travis for filling in the gap with any help we needed, Darin Wright for doing a wonderful job on the makeup and having a critical eye for detail, Blake for coordinating some really cool outfits, and Rose for doing an incredible job on Brittany’s hair!

I really wished we had about 2 hours more. There were so many more ideas I had that we never got to.  I’m so hoping we’ll be able to do it again sometime!
