Hawaii Trip – Highlights

Heather documented our trip very well with words and pics on our personal blog but I just wanted to throw out some of my favorite images from our trip up on my blog before they become irrelevant from how much time has passed!  So, check ‘em out and put a comment on the bottom if you like!

The Mauna Kea Resort on the big island of Hawaii. Amazingly beautiful there.

We went to the top of Mauna Kea mountain. It’s a climb of around 13,700 feet. Above the clouds…

Best site in the world to star gaze.

The sunset up there was incredible.

We did not bring warm clothes to Hawaii. Who would, ya know?  So we got a blanket from our resort room and Heather bundled up in it.  With the strong wind blowing, it felt in the teens.  Very cold to be in short sleeves and flops!

This is the sight we saw going back down the mountain. Incredible.

Here’s a pic of the resort.

We then went to a black sand beach on the top of the island.  We didn’t go all the way down because it was a pretty good hike to get down there. But here are some pics of the scenery.

Can’t wait to go back.

Family Photos from Wyoming!

I LOVE my family!  Did everyone know that? If not, you know now. We have a blast around our house including the occasional dancing.  And I just love how going back through our photos we’ve taken we can relive these tiny moments that are frozen in time.  My heart just smiles when seeing the love that our daughter shows us.  We are SO blessed!

These first couple of shots were taken the first day we were in Wyoming. It was really cloudy and snowing occasionally. It was still so beautiful and we couldn’t help taking photos.  Love these!

The next day we got the chance to go exploring as a family. We knew were snow was but we had to hike to get to it.  Carrying a toddler while going up steep hills at an elevation around 8,000 feet is NOT fun.  But it was totally worth it. Check out these fun pics!

Then we found this cool buffalo structure.  I don’t think the owner liked us being there but that’s okay.:)

Thank you for everyone for looking!  Did I say I love my family yet?  :)

A couple of my daughter

Most of the time, I feel I’m too busy to actually photograph my own daughter. That’s why I’m so thankful for Heather taking up the slack, learning photography, becoming an amazing photographer and taking loads of photographs of Alana.  But every once in a while, I’m in the right spot to photograph her and I wanted to share three with everyone!

While I was shooting some headshots of Paul Baswell (pics coming soon), Alana, Heather, Pauls sister Christen hung out at the Aquarium and Alana felt right at home in the water. Soon Heather stripped her down and Alana got a REALLY soaked diaper.

Check out how saggy this diaper is! haha.  I’ve heard of stories of those things bursting if enough water gets into them. Fortunately, that didn’t happen.

The next day, I got a photo of her in this, uh, field really close to our home.  The grass was about as tall as her!  I love my little Alana so much. She’s the coolest kid in the world!
