Jeff and Jackie | Becoming Parents

My brother Jeff and his wife Jackie are going to be having their much anticipated baby girl next month. To celebrate this time in their life, we went out and did a mini-photo shoot at our parents house in Apison. Although we only went out here for like 15 minutes, we got some great shots of them together. Big thanks to my lovely wife who held a reflector for me WHILE holding a baby. Is my wife amazing or what!?

Love this shot — and not because I cut my brother head off either.:)

These next two photos are taken when they thought I was finished taking photos and was heading back to the house. I love how my couples act when they think they’re “in between” shots. That’s when the genuine emotion and expressions come out. Love it.

Hopefully Adeline Elizabeth will hold off till her due date but the latest reports indicate that she may be making her grand deput early! We’re all excited to finally meet her!

Congrats, Jeff and Jackie! You two are going to make terrific parents!

Reverence

Last week I had the priviledge and honor of documenting part of the memorial service for the father of some dear friends.

The service was a beautiful celebration of a life well-lived, and though there were many tears shed, there was also hope and comfort.

Having served in the U.S. Military, a flag was presented to the family, and it was done with such reverence and beauty:

Also as part of the service, doves were released into a bright, blue sky:

Since some of the family wasn’t able to be in town for the service, I pray that the photos I captured bring comfort and a deep sense of knowing that this family member was loved and cherished, and that this memorial service was a true reflection of a very special man.

Mango Tree Frames

I recently had the privilege to spend some time with my friends Tim and Steph in order to help Steph get her brand new business off the ground!

Steph has been thrust into this new venture because she has such great taste and an eye for design and color. She painted a couple of frames just for fun recently and, well, the short story is that everyone loves them and wants her to sell them. So, she has decided to move forward and just see what happens!

Steph wants to sell her frames with my photographs in them, and to have me take photos of them for her website and any future publications.

Before we officially began the photo shoot for the frames, I took Tim and Steph outside to grab a few photos. These two are so much fun to photograph! I love their energy and interaction!

And now for Steph’s amazing creations!

Here is a detail photo, showing the perfect distressing that Steph does with the Benjamin Moore paint she uses…

A set of three amazing frames that coordinate beautifully, and we all thought they were perfectly conducive for these wedding shots. Two of them have the scalloped trim and the one in the middle has gorgeous pearl polka dots.

I think this is one of Steph’s favorite frames, and I can’t blame her! The photo is from a session I did for Jason and Kellie a few months ago!

Here is the Steph showing the magnitude of this frame…it is 30×40 inches, and it is stunning!
