Welcome to our Blog!

We are Rich and Heather Smith, a husband and wife team based in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Rich is a wedding photographer, while Heather helps to keep the business running smoothly at home while chasing around our baby daughter and taking a few photos in the process.

We are two extroverts who adore meeting new people. We love laughing, chai tea lattes, and Rich can't get enough of Heather's lasagna. We're addicted to LOST and are trying to kick our 24 habit.

We are so thankful that our clients trust us to document their lives, and so we consider our blog a place to share our lives with you. Whether you are a friend, family, client, or stranger, please relax and enjoy a glimpse into our world.

Welcome, and thank you for stopping by!

Many thanks to the Nathan and Amber Holritz for the wonderful images you see of us on the left!

The Powell Family

I got to spend a couple of hours with David, Tami, Preston and Hudson on Thursday. I’ve known them for a while now and even photographed their new born son Hudson in the hospital a couple years ago.  We were first going to do this session in October of last year but postponed it till it got warmer. Well, it definitely got warmer!  It had to have been 98 degrees outside!  But we still had a lot of fun fishing and riding four wheelers.  Enjoy some of my favorite pics below!

Hudson hasn’t quite grasped the concept of fishing yet but he loves to use the pole for digging around the muck. haha

My best “Andy Griffith Show” impression…

We then went 4 wheeling!  Woot!

To end the session, we allowed the kids to play and I took David and Tami for a mini “we did” session.  They did a great job!

Thanks again for letting me document your family!  I really enjoyed it!  Enjoy your photos!

The Hamaker Family!

I got to hang out with Steve, Shannon and Foy — the super cool Hamaker family — on Monday to get some updated photos!  You may remember Steve’s name. His company - Southside Creative Group - did my AMAZING logo!   They even added a page on their website about little ol’ me.  Check it!

The last time I photographed little Foy was April of last year!  So as you might expect, he’s changed a WHOLE lot!  He was just full of personality. His main thought process goes a little like this — “RUN”!  That’s all his mind thought about.  Moving, running and exploring. Because of this, I had to act fast to get all of my shots. One sec the little guy was there and the very next - he’s gone!

Check out some of my faves…

haha… he never made it to the other parent! A.D.D boy (Alana’s the same) ran about halfway and then decided he wanted to play in the road!  Fun photos, nonetheless!

Hamakers: I loved hanging out with you guys again! Our lives are all way too busy but we’ve got to make time to get together!  Your family rocks!

Two + Two makes Four | Travis and Kristen!

I had the amazing opportunity to photograph the beautiful family of Travis and Kristen and their adorable twin girls Haven and Mylee. Don’t ask me to tell them apart. I couldn’t!  It was quite a challenge knowing whether or not I was getting enough photos of each girl!  Never had that problem before!

Here the girls are hugging on each other. Okay, everyone at the same time…. “Awwwww”.  :)

Thank you so much for giving me the immense pleasure photographing your wonderful family!  I loved hanging out with you!  I hope to see both of you and your beautiful children… in what… about 6 months?  :) Can’t wait!
