We are Rich and Heather Smith, a husband and wife team based in Chattanooga, Tennessee. We specialize in local and destination wedding photography, and we have been blessed with amazing clients and incredible opportunities the past few years!

We are two extroverts who adore meeting new people. We love laughing, family dance parties in the living room, chai tea lattes, and most importantly, our adorable two year old daughter, Alana.

The Engels Family – Part 2

For those of you who were touched by our recent blog post about the amazing Engels family, please spend another few moments with us. We have more photos to share, and we hope that you are again blessed, encouraged, and challenged.

Rich put together the unbelievable fusion slideshow below, blending our still shots with some video that we took during our time with the Engels. These photos are from the end of our session, when the family spent time cutting Christi’s hair before the chemotherapy could take it from her. Kenny had his head shaved right along with her, and his love for her could not be more beautiful or inspiring.

The Janous Family!

I’m so excited about introducing to you one of the most wonderful families you’ll ever meet… the Janous Family! Leslie is the sister of one of my brides from last year. Since then she’s become my client and now we can call her a dear friend! She is like an aunt to our daughter and we are so blessed to have her in our lives.

Leslie has been taking photography lessons from me for a while and is becoming an awesome photographer! I’m so proud of how much she’s grown as a photographer! You’ve got to check out her stuff!

Leslie and Leigh are THE nicest people. Leslie LIVES to make you smile and Leigh is one of the best cooks around. We were fortunate to be able to go to Hawaii with them to photograph Leigh’s nephew Brandon and his fiance Rachel. Later on in the week Leslie wanted photos of her family and I was most happy to do so! Check out some of my favorite images from the session!

Leigh is an avid golfer and I’m glad I was able to photograph her and Leslie on one of the most beautiful golf courses in the world!

Here is Brittany… Leslie’s beautiful daughter whom you may recognize from a past senior session I did.

Brittany’s boyfriend Travis came to hang out with us as well. Fun times!

The Moncriefs! [family]

I got to document the Moncrief family AGAIN! I love this family! They’re so much fun to hang with and this time was no exception. In fact, they stepped it up because this time they had a bike that rides two people (+ baby) AND I got to do a mini anytime session with Jimmy and Brittany! What more could I ask for?

I also loved that I was photographing a fellow creative (read: fellow photographer). In these cases, I’m able to go beyond what I normally would do and bend the rules I normally hold onto when I’m shooting and editing. Taking creativity to the next level and be a bit more artistic. Something my heart just loves to do. Pushing my creative boundaries.

We started off going to the park near their home as I photographed the whole family on a vintage bicycle! So fun!

Little Ada was looking quite cute with her little hat on…

Found out that this bike doesn’t have gears. So riding it is NOT for the faint of heart. And the turning radius is HUGE. I kept on making them go up and down on this hill while I got the shots. By the end, they were getting tired! Getting good photos is a lot of work!
