When I first met with Chris and Emily for the first time at a frozen yogurt place, I knew I wanted to be their photographer. They had such a fun dynamic… this amazing chemistry between them and I knew I wanted to capture it with my camera. So I was pumped about meeting them at the Chattanooga Choo-choo to do exactly that… capture their relationship. And what a time we had. Lots of laughter and beautiful light to work with. Here are only a few of my favorites. Enjoy them as much as I did taking them!

Brandon and Sheena’s wedding day started at the beautiful and historic Fillauer Lake House. There were rumors from the local weatherman of thunderstorms. So before I headed out, I was sure to pack Publix plastic bags for my gear (you know, high end stuff) and a large golf umbrella that I was going to force one of the guests to hold over my head. Thankfully, it never came to that because it turned out to be a beautiful day!

Two things that you can bank on: 1) Brandon and Sheena are passionate for each other and 2) It will melt your heart seeing Brandon with their little girl Chloe. It was fun hanging out with them all day documenting this wonderful event. Enjoy some of my favorite photos and feel free to comment on the bottom!

And thank you, Brandon and Sheena, for trusting me to capture your wedding day. You are a wonderful couple and you’re both so great to work with! I hope that all of the emotions you were feeling on your wedding day flood back while viewing these photos!

Laura and Dan » Chattanooga Engagement Photographer

I met Laura when I photographed her best friends wedding. We became friends that day and I was THRILLED to hear that when she became engaged she wanted me to photograph her wedding too! I also found out that the very first picture that Dan saw of Laura was one that I took at Haley’s wedding! Talk about making a photographer feel special!

We started the engagement session at “The Farm”, a beautiful golf course near Dalton, Georgia. Dan is one of the guys in charge keeping this world class golf course in incredible shape. So we wandered most of the golf course admiring how perfect the grounds were. It was a challenge to capture just how beautiful it was. We also had Dan and Laura’s dog come along. Best dog in the world. He runs around the golf course every day and he definitely provided lots of energy during the shoot.

I know I’ve said this before but I’m so honored that you chose me to photograph your wedding, Laura! I can’t wait till later this year when I get the chance to photograph you two again! But for now, enjoy a few of my favorites from the session!

My first wedding of the year went wonderfully as it was with a fantastic couple at a fantastic venue. Meghan and Seth found me through the Hunter Museum. They live in Austin, Texas but wanted to get married here where Meghan grew up. I’m so thankful to have been a part of their day!

We started our day with the always incredible Darin with Elea Blake having Meghan’s makeup done. Then the remainder of the days’ festivities were on the grounds of the Art District area of Chattanooga. As the guests started arriving for the wedding, I’d ask a few of them how they knew the bride and/or groom. I quickly realized that the guests were from all over the United States and many traveled to be there. What a testimony to the impact Meghan and Seth have had on the people around them! They were both relaxed and ready to have a fun day. And that they did. It was wonderful working with them and seeing the smiles and emotion flowing because of what this wedding – and the people who attended – meant to them.

Thank you, Meghan and Seth, for giving us the honor and privilege of documenting your wedding. It was incredible meeting you and sharing your day with you. You’re both wonderful and I pray that these photos bring you back to the day that your joined your lives together! Many more to come!

The Varghese Family!

I dare you not to fall in love with Nadia. She is the smiliest little girl! We became instant friends… which is really unusual for little kids when they first meet me. I think most find me intimidating because I’m tall! So she must be ultra cool.

Loved photographing the Varghese family. The love they have for each other was wonderful to see and my camera loved it. Check out only a few of my favorites from the session. It was SO hard to narrow it down for this blog post!

Mary and Travis’ Engagement Photography

After having to reschedule our session because of rain, Mary and Travis were finally able to travel down from Knoxville to have their engagement photos done. And what a great time we had walking around Chattanooga Southside! Mary tried to convince me that she’s terrible in front of a camera but these photos tell quite a different story. Both her and Travis are great in front of the lens. Can’t wait till their wedding later this year!

Ben and Morgan’s Engagement Session

Ben, Morgan and I get along really well. Mostly because they really get my sense of dry humor since they both have it too. So hanging out for a couple of hours a few nights ago was a lot of fun as we walked around joking with each other.

And before anyone asks, I did NOT photoshop Morgan’s eyes. They really are that striking!

Matt & Lauren’s Engagement Session

By the time our engagement session was over, I was mad at Matt and Lauren. Not because the session went horrible. Nope. I was mad at them because the session went quite the opposite… it went AMAZING! And the reason I was mad at them was because my time with them had sadly come to an end. You see, they’re getting married in Florida and they had already hired a photographer down there. I know… sad, right!?
