Matt & Kati » Engagement

Matt and I have known each other for a while now through his best friend David. He was actually in David’s wedding I shot in December. Through that experience, Matt and Kati met me, saw my work, and saw me work at the Ritterbush wedding — and despite all that still decided that they wanted me to do their wedding as well!
As both of them live in and love Dayton, it was only natural that would be the setting for their engagement session. Despite being a very cloudy day, we still was able to grab some great photos! It was pretty easy since Kati has the most beautiful infectious smile! Check out a few of my faves!
Love the reflections!
Love the moment I captured between them! I was pretty excited to be able to shoot in tall reeds.
After the park, we headed to downtown Dayton where I quickly learned that this small city downtown area becomes a ghost town in the evenings. We even stopped by my good buddies John Bamber’s studio but even they weren’t working. Bummer.
We weren’t sure if walking on railroad tracks was illegal but we decided to chance it… and right next to the police station. We’re such rebels!
Less than a minute later, we were glad we finished up shooting on the tracks before this big guy came. I would have hated to have had to make the train stop till we were finished. Besides… we were there first.
What’s an engagement shoot with a bling shot? Nice!
Matt and Kati, I had a great time with both of you! Can’t wait until your wedding that’s coming up soon!
