I had the wonderful privilege of hanging out with Cara and Montague for their engagement session last week. We were so blessed with absolutely beautiful light since it has been cloudy and rainy a good bit this month.
They actually “won” the session at a silent auction benefiting the beautiful people of Zimbabwe through a project called Zimbabwe 911. Several organizations from the Chattanooga and Knoxville area are filling up a 40 foot container to send to the impoverished people. It’s a wonderful project and I’m so glad Cara and Montague gave much to help the project!
We met at the Bluff View Art District downtown; probably the only place left in Chattanooga that still has colorful trees. Everywhere else, the trees are bare. No idea how they were still colorful here, but I’m thankful!
Montague is hugely patriotic so I really wanted to get the American flags behind them. I hope he likes this!

This is the exactly location where Montague proposed to Cara. I love it when a beautiful place also holds sentimental value as well!

This was shot on the balcony of the best Italian restaurant in town, Tonys. Do yourself a favor and take your date there. Yum.

Love the interaction and the beautiful tree behind them!

I love the lines and arcs in this one. By this time, I couldn’t believe how photogenic they were. We were having a blast! Be sure to check out the slideshow at the same location and we were all cracking up!

I’ve captured a lot of sun flare in my camera but never a rainbow. First rainbow and in an amazing photo as well! Sweet!

There are those beautiful trees again. They were standing on top of a structure that we were absolutely sure a security guard would have run us off. Fortunately, no one did and we were able to get some fantastic photos there. Fun.

Love it.

After a change of outfits, we headed back out as the sun was going down and was throwing off more golden light.

I absolutely love this photo!

Using a natural reflector here. Yes!

Probably one of my favorite photos I’ve ever taken. Love the mood, texture, colors. I’m blinded by it’s awesomeness!

ANOTHER one that I absolutely adore. I simply can’t find a way to make the picture more perfect, and that doesn’t happen very often. Both of these photos need to be blown up huge!

In front of the Hunter Museum.

Walking toward the sun just as it disappeared behind the mountains.

I’ve shot this area many times but have never seen this photo op. I’m so glad Montague suggested the gate… I took it from there. Love the lamp in this photo!

Okay… it’s been WAY too long since I’ve had a self portrait with my clients after a photoshoot and it’s about time I bring it back. I’m so glad Montague and Cara were still smiling after spending a couple of hours with me and my wild and crazy ideas during the session!

Again Cara and Montague, I had an absolute blast hanging with you two, enjoying the beautiful light and documenting the love and commitment you share! Thank you!
