Welcome to our Blog!

We are Rich and Heather Smith, a husband and wife team based in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Rich is a wedding photographer, while Heather helps to keep the business running smoothly at home while chasing around our baby daughter and taking a few photos in the process.

We are two extroverts who adore meeting new people. We love laughing, chai tea lattes, and Rich can't get enough of Heather's lasagna. We're addicted to LOST and are trying to kick our 24 habit.

We are so thankful that our clients trust us to document their lives, and so we consider our blog a place to share our lives with you. Whether you are a friend, family, client, or stranger, please relax and enjoy a glimpse into our world.

Welcome, and thank you for stopping by!

Many thanks to the Nathan and Amber Holritz for the wonderful images you see of us on the left!

The Rickard Family!

When Ellen contacted me about photographing her family before their oldest son Jim who is in the Navy was deployed overseas, I knew I wanted to really help them out.  And what a huge blessing it was. They have such a fun and close family. They allowed me into their close circle for a few hours to document them as a family. I loved it.

Here are a few of my favorites but don’t forget to check out the slideshow at the bottom!

Here is the man of the hour Jim Rickard. His family is so proud of him!

As a little surprise, Ellen and Ace bought the kids tickets to London for next year. Their daughter LOVES to travel. She was beyond excited. Before they opened up their presents, Ace read a fun limerick.

Here’s Virginia and her brother’s reactions when they found out what the little toy airplane meant! So fun!

As a father of a daughter myself, I loved seeing the beautiful interaction between these two.

Shot right when the sun disappeared for the evening, taking its light with it and naturally drawing to a close a wonderful session.

I’m so glad you contacted me Ellen! I really enjoyed meeting and getting to know you and your wonderful family!  We definitely need to do it again sometime. In the mean time I’ll definitely want to keep up with you all!  Now…

Enjoy your slideshow!

Ellen - Rich -- Thank you!! You should have been here to hear everybody's reactions - so fun! You can imagine the five of us (minus Jim) crowded around the computer, the pushing to see, the laughing at each other - only the dogs got off with no criticism! You are a great photographer! I will treasure these pictures as a reminder of the days of four teenagers at home. You got so many pictures of us making the expressions we always make! I love the one of Jim listening to the limmerick we wrote - and Virginia's excitement about the trip. Everyone hooted at Ace in his "Benjamin Franklins"...it's a pretty tough group, as you'll remember! Thank you so much!! EllenNovember 23, 2008 - 2:43 pm
